On Sculpture:
I find sculpting fascinatingly primitive. I feel it's the closest an artist can get to his creation. Especially with clay and its "hand-on" approach, you become very connected with the piece. The figure is a marvelous subject for sculpting, and the thrill of watching the figure develop from a mass of clay is one of the most fulfilling aspects of sculpting. To achieve the softness of the human body in a sculpture, whether it is clay or bronze or stone, is one of the wonders of art.
